  12.  This  is  the  fourth  Aminet  release  of the FIR FilterDesigner.
  13.  The program designs optimized  Finite  Impulse  Response  Filters. 
  14.  
  15.  Amiga OS 2.x is required. The program requires a minimum Workbench 
  16.  screen  size  of  640x400.
  17.  
  18.  The  FIR  Filters  designed  by  the  program  FIR Filter Designer
  19.  can be loaded by  the program  AudioLab16  from Maurizio Ciccione.
  20.  AudioLab16 can be found on the Aminet in the directory  /mus/edit.

  22.  The problem  of designing finite  impulse response  (FIR)  digital
  23.  filters experienced great  activity in the early  1970`s.  Most of
  24.  this work was  directed at the problem  of  optimal filter design,
  25.  in the weighted  Chebyshev  sense. The algorithm for this program,
  26.  by McClellan, Parks and Rabiner, will design the optimal Chebyshev
  27.  approximation for linear phase filters. The Chebyshev optimization
  28.  is done very efficiently by means of the Remez exchange algorithm,
  29.  and this particular  FIR filter design program has found wide use.
